Adam S. Gold is the Chief Investment Officer of Katam Hill LLC. He started the firm with a belief that focusing on security selection of generational companies can produce superior long-term returns for clients. Prior to founding Katam Hill in 2019, Adam worked at Merrill Lynch in Century City, CA, which he joined in 2018. There, he renewed his securities licenses, and passed the SIE, Series 7, and Series 66 exams. Prior to Merrill, Adam was the founder and general partner of Espial Capital, a New York and Silicon Valley-based investment management firm. He ran the firm from 2012 through 2018 and invested in both public securities and private consumer and enterprise technology companies. Prior to Espial, from 2008 until 2012, Adam served as a portfolio manager at Gilder Gagnon Howe & Co. (GGHC), a New York-based investment adviser and brokerage firm focusing on global growth investing. Before joining GGHC, from 2007 to 2008, Adam served as a research analyst at Coatue Management, a technology-focused hedge fund manager. From 2001 to 2007, Adam worked as an intern, summer analyst and research analyst at EnTrust Capital. As a full-time analyst starting in 2005, Adam covered the firm’s technology, media, and telecommunication (TMT) investments. Adam earned his B.S. degree in Finance and General Accounting, with a Minor in Journalism & Mass Communication, from New York University’s Stern School of Business in 2005. Graduating early Magna Cum Laude, Adam received numerous university-wide awards and honors for his contribution and leadership across the university community. His prior philanthropic endeavor, the Espial Foundation, was started in 2012 to help educate future innovators by improving the health and wellness of children around the globe. Adam currently lives in Los Angeles, California with his wife and three children.
